Program Description:
Earn a full semester's worth of credits and advance your nursing degree all while enjoying the history and culture of Dublin.

UCDUniversity College Dublin has its origins in the mid-nineteenth century under the leadership of the renowned educationalist John Henry Cardinal Newman. Since its foundation in 1854, the University has flourished and made a unique and substantial contribution to the creation of modern Ireland, based on successful engagement with Irish society on every level and across every sphere of activity. UCD is one of Europe's leading research-intensive universities; an environment where undergraduate education,masters and PhD training, research, innovation and community engagement form a dynamic spectrum of activity. The international standing of UCD has grown in recent years; it is currently ranked within the top 1% of institutions world-wide.

Belfield, the main University College Dublin campus is located on a 132 hectare site, 4 km south of Dublin city center. All UMass Amherst students will be enrolled in four courses throughout the semester, for a total of 14 credits:

Nursing 100: Perspectives in Nursing (3 credits)
Nursing 202: Issues of Aging (4 credits)
Anatomy and Physiology II (4 credits)
General Education Requirement Course (3 credits)

A number of Gen Eds have already been pre-approved for different requirements. Please ask your advisor or visit the International Programs Office and speak to a Peer Advisor for details.

UCD Accommodations
Participants will live in on-campus housing, within student apartments. Each apartment features a single room attached to a shared common area, kitchen, and bathroom. University College Dublin does not offer meal plans, but there are a number of supermarkets close to campus where students may shop for groceries. Specific residence assignments will be finalized over the summer; you may view examples of UCD's residence's at their official accommodations website.
